Côte-Rôtie is a meal wine. This wine has the advantage of presenting spicy and smoky notes: 2 flavors that go very well with meat.
Côte-Rôtie wine takes on its full dimension when accompanied by red meat.
Personally, I have a preference for beef and duck for Côte-Rôtie in their youth. I find that lamb and game perfectly magnify Côte-Rôtie over 10 years of age.
Why not let yourself be tempted by a Côte-Rôtie La Chana and a Swiss cheese called "tete de moine"?
The Condrieu is an aromatic wine with a large stature which can be self-sufficient: it can therefore constitute a very beautiful aperitif, tasted alone.
It will also go perfectly with fine poultry from Bresse or fish from the Dombes.
Likewise, its width in the mouth allows it to go perfectly with lobster or foie gras.
Goat cheeses are preferred. Nature doing things well, the town of Condrieu also has an AOC cheese (la rigotte) that goes admirably well with Condrieu wine.
